[Casting Notice Template] This One Last Time

Below is an example of how your casting notice will look on our website. It also serves as a visual guide to help you fill our our form. This post is an actual copy of a casting notice posted in 2013 that resulted in a successful casting call with a response from many talented actors. I believe the response was a direct result of how much thought went into our casting call. We hope some similar thought will get you the same results. If you need more help, check out our article about how to improve your casting notices.

Producer: Colin Leach
Project Start Date: 11/11/2013
Project Wrap Date: 11/20/2013
Total Shooting Days: 6

Project Details: The writer was inspired by the thought of books as contraband, something as illegal as meth, heroin, or cocaine. Like Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, or Equilibrium we wanted to explore a world where this type of future was a reality; while still keeping modern society more-or-less intact. Where we break tradition is focusing on the relationship aspect, and the kind of strain this world, and dealing books like drugs, can have on a couple. We want this to be the start of an ongoing production company - our debut - and we hope it can build the relationships we're missing to keep making more films.

Synopsis: The story of Milos and Cassandra, trapped in a dystopian world, trying desperately to escape. Milos is a dealer – a dealer of information – in a world were every action is limited, and knowledge is a power. After a narrowly escaping arrest a year previous Milos is faced with a decision to deal after retiring. But this time he has a bigger motive than just money. A chance to escape the city and country that so ruthlessly oppresses its citizens. A story about love. The bond between a man and woman and what each would do for the other when the gloves are off and each other’s lives are on the line. To what lengths would you go for a loved one?

MILOS | Male | 20s-30s | LEAD $125/Day | Potential 6 Days
The boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He grew up struggling to survive. With an absent father and an alcoholic mother, Milos started his dealing early on with drugs. In his later years he meets Avi who introduces him to Cass and book smuggling. Because of his up bringing Milos is emotionally distant, he has a cool calm demeanor, but that only hides the tumultuous ocean of despair and pain he hides inside. He has a particularly morose and negative outlook on life, other than Cass his life has nothing to offer. Book smuggling isn’t something he does to fight the system, but is only a means of survival. Cass is his saving grace. She makes life worth living. His bond to here is so strong; she showed him the brighter side of life. Lifted the veil of misery from his eyes and let him see how beautiful the world is. Behind every strong man is an even stronger woman.

Growing up in conservative home, she was cut off from what most people experience in their teen and 20’s. She met Milos through Avi, who is a long time friend. Meeting Milos opened her eyes in the same way she opened Milos’. Milos showed her that there is more to life than the bubble her and her family lived in. He helped her to spread her wings and find her own way. Because of this, her relationship with her parents is strained.

THOMAS | Male | Late Teens-Early 20s | SUPPORTING $125/Day | 1 Day
The youngest character in the story, he is a close friend of Avi and an acquaintance of Milos. Extremely naïve about smuggling, he idolizes Avi and what he does. So eager to join the fight he jumps at the first opportunity to help, riding with Milos and ultimately meeting his end.

ROOKIE/REBEL 1 | late 20’s-early30’s | SUPPORTING $125/Day | 2 Days
